Our challenge:
While influence marketing is the most authentic, trustworthy way for consumers to discover products and services aligned with their interests, 98% of global ad spend still goes to ineffectively and non-consensually buying people’s attention. What is holding back brands from going all-in on influence marketing is inconsistent ROI from influence campaigns, which is rooted in the challenge of influencer selection. There are ~100M influencers in the world, and brands don’t have time to take each one out for dinner to find out if they’re a good match. We at Tailify are building a system to automatically match brands and influencers to maximise ROI so that each cause has the best chance of finding their champions. Solving this problem will bring forward a future where marketing is predicated on trust and speaks to our deepest aspirations, a world where the wealth of influence is owned by individuals instead of trillion-dollar tech corporations.
A day in the life of a Senior Systems Engineer
You will work side-by-side with other members of our distributed engineering team on the design and implementation of Data Processing and Machine Learning infrastructure on Google Cloud and other providers. You will join us on the journey to identify and set up DevOps and Continuous Delivery practices for our ML models. You will take care of a broad spectrum of our services and manage security baseline of the company.
Requirements
About you:
7+ years of experience in systems/software engineering
Desire and ability for quick learning of new tools and technologies
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Solid understanding of Linux/Unix operating environment
Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, SSH, HTTP, SMTP, etc)
Familiarity with at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, Ruby, etc)
Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery practices
Understanding of information systems security concerns and management
Expertise with version control systems, especially in Git/GitHub
We would also love if you:
Are experienced with database management systems and/or Apache Spark
Have had production exposure to public cloud providers (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure)
Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes environment
Have proficiency in Python development
Solid software development experience in any statically typed language (Scala/Java/C++/Golang)
Familiarity with monitoring systems (Prometheus, Grafana, etc)
