We are looking for Ruby/JavaScript Developer to work remotely (preferably from our St. Petersburg office) for USA Company. The Company, Chicago-based startup, is a B2B group purchasing organization for real estate operators. In other words, it's a closed e-commerce web site.
The current stack includes Ruby (on Rails/Sinatra), Redis, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, nginx, Java (Vert.x), React.js, Bootstrap and RSpec. The product is hosted on Linux with Rackspace, currently in the process of transition to AWS.
Possible responsibilities:
Move search out of the main app into its own service and rewrite it in Go
Redo user side search and navigation
Open up the catalog without displaying prices
Improved product and catalog data
New vendor integrations
Requirements:
Fluent in JS and CSS. Experience using modern JS frameworks, React.js is a plus.
Expertise in web application scalability. Specifically, we need help refactoring parts of the existing Rails app in Go.
Experience in Ruby and Rails.
Expertise in DevOps / AWS would be a plus but not required.
