Qik Embedded Team
Qik was founded in June 2006 to enable mobile phone users to share live video with their friends, family and followers. The first Qik service was launched in 2008, and is now available in over 160 countries on almost 200 different phones across the Android, iPhone, Symbian, Blackberry and Windows Mobile platforms. Most days, the Qik team is working around the clock on their patent-pending, “Smart Streaming” platform, which brings a lot of intelligence to the hard challenge of transmitting videos over mobile wireless networks. Now we are moving to new areas like embedded devices and smart wireless cameras.
We’re looking for a talented and experienced embedded developer.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain existing software for Qik streaming solutions
• Integrate our software into different hardware and software platforms
• Cowork with Qik server team and other software and hardware vendors
Candidate Profile
Desired Skills & Experience:
Expertise/Experience
• Embedded C/C++ experience
• Embedded debug experience is desired
• Cross platform development and cross-compilation experience is desired
• Experience with Git/Subversion or other version control system is desired
• TCP/IP knowledge is desired
• Knowledge of embedded x86/ARM/MIPS platforms is a plus
• Knowledge of automated build tools and GNU tools is a plus
• Experience with mobile development is a plus
• Written English is highly desired, spoken English is desired, experience using English in a work-related environment is a plus

• Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of the development team;
• Ability to work in a multi-tasking and agile development environment;
• Good technical, analytical and communication skills;

Qualifications
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Engineering OR equivalent years of work experience.
• Min of 2-3 years experience of applicable work experience
