Grid Dynamics, a fast growing professional services company recently named a "Cool Vendor" by Gartner, is expanding its consulting organization throughout North America. We work primarily with large enterprise customers, companies such as eBay, Macy's, Microsoft and PayPal, who rely on our expertise in scaling mission-critical systems. To support our growth, we are looking for experienced consultants with strong Java and Linux skills. Our consultants will work on short-term (1-2 months) and long-term (6+ months) assignments at a client site helping our customers architect, design and implement highly scalable and performant solutions. This job will require strong technical and customer-facing skills, leadership and independence.

Responsibilities:

• Participation in design and development of solutions using in-memory data grid technologies on Java platform
• Participation in research in the field of performance of distributed Java applications
• Work on customer’s site: collection requirements, presentation of design, configuration of environment


Requirements:

• Experience in development of distributed applications in Java (at least 5 years)
• Understanding of foundations in design of big systems
• Experience in Hibernate
• Knowledge of Spring Framework
• English (at least upper intermediate)
• Foreign passport
• Desire to spend up to 80% of the year in business trips

Desirable:

• Experience in in-memory data grid (Coherence, GemFire, GigaSpaces, Terracota)
• Experience in RabbitMQ
• Experience in real-time systems
• Deep understanding of networks
• Knowledge of Groovy and Grails
• Experience in OSGi
• Drivers license
