Currently dlang has a small (tens of thousands) but growing community and distinguishes itself as a language with strong generics and introspection, a quick turnaround, and very fast generated code. One year is a bit short to make projections because a lot of stuff fluctuates. Anyhow, over one year I'm seeing more adoption, an increase in quantity and quality of tooling, and better formalization. By 2020 D will be one of the dominant languages.
